Ground Crew training

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April saw our Annual Ground Crew Training at Goodwood. An excellent turnout of 30 candidates joined our new instructors, Ian and Tony from FireTech UK.  The course this year has been structured to more accurately reflect the types of incidents our Ground Crew may have to face and involved more intensive First Aid and Fire Fighting techniques than we’ve ever done before.

Whilst the topics are treated with all seriousness, we always try to make the weekend fun, and we’ve had very positive responses from instructors and candidates alike.

74 Members Meeting at Goodwood

Goodwood has been busy hosting the 74 Members Meeting, which once again was a resounding success and an event which will only gain popularity in future years. For the first time Elite Helicopters were granted permission to conduct Pleasure Flights at the event with a specific route agreed that flew the passengers up the full length of Festival of Speed Hill Climb passed the front of Goodwood House with spectacular views of Goodwood Estate and the Racecourse on top of the South Downs. Captain Steve Brady was kept nice and busy (just as he likes it) at the controls of our Longranger G-LVDC. Next it’s the Festival of Speed.

This year sees the launch of ‘Flying with Spitfires’. This a new venture which we proposed to Boultbee Flight Academy here at Goodwood and we are pleased that they saw the potential and we have jointly structured a series of flight routes that enable passengers on board the Helicopter to get an unparalleled view of a Spitfire up close and personal alongside the Helicopter. A truly amazing experience.  Have a look at: for full information.
