Once you have achieved your PPL(H), you will want to use it!

We have helicopters available for Self Fly Hire so you can now make use of your licence or, if your long-term aim is a CPL(H), you can start to build up towards the hours required to commence the course.

On obtaining your PPL(H) you are limited to flying the helicopter type that you undertook your training on, so may wish to add additional helicopter types to your licence. Each Type Rating course requires a minimum of 5 hours flight training, some theoretical training and a theoretical exam before taking your final skills test.

Should you envisage the necessity to fly during the official hours of darkness, you will require a night qualification. This is not type specific and the course consists of 15 hours flight training, including 5 solo circuits and 5 hours theoretical training.

However, we don’t want you to forget the fun element to be gained from flying helicopters and so we offer a variety of trips throughout the year, with the highlight being our annual Mountain Flying course. This is as popular with non-flying partners as with the pilots. The experience will give you a huge adrenalin rush and teach you some extremely valuable techniques.
