Helicopter Training for 10 years

In 2011 we are celebrating the 10th birthday of our Helicopter Training School, which over the ten years has become a well-established and well-reputed pilot training facility.

Elite Helicopters was initially established at White Waltham Airfield back in 1996 and expanded to Goodwood in March 2001, when the Pilot Training School was established to complement the Company’s already successful air charter business.

Over the past 10 years, we have conducted more than 1000 helicopter trial lessons of varying duration, successfully trained 172 pilots to obtain their Private Pilots Licence, trained a further 23 to achieve their JAR Commercial Pilots Licence and undertaken in the region of 100 additional Type Ratings. We have organised mountain flying courses, dunker training courses, London heli-route flights and night qualification courses to name a few. And then just in time to mark the start of our birthday year we were also successful in being approved as a supplier under the Ministry of Defence’s Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Services (ELCAS).

As well as operating a sound business we like to pride ourselves on the warm and friendly welcome and professional service we offer to all our students, clients and visitors.

Over the past ten years we have carried out numerous renovations to our facility at Goodwood Aerodrome, and now consider we have one of the most comfortable & spacious training facilities in the South of England.

As part of our birthday celebrations we will be hosting an Open Day at our facilities at Goodwood where the brand new Robinson R66 turbine engine helicopter will be making an appearance – We hope that this will be the start to a year full of festivities!
